Remember when I was talking about the decline of the hand in its willingness to draw what you envisioned?
Voila. I give you my attempts at drawing Commander Zhao from Avatar the Last airbender. As a character I absolutely love him, and I wont' lie when I say I was thoroughly influenced by Rufftoon.
I wanted to go for a much more well rounded Zhao, looking serious, not evil but also dignified. Alas. Instead I couldn't quite work out proportions with his face and it stumped me near everytime.
I always think it's important to show even when something didn't quite go your way, because no one is perfect.
